Café Deux Chien

On July 22, 2008 a new restaurant opened on the Rue de Suze: Café Deux Chien. It is owned and operated by husband/wife team Mick and Molly, cattledog expatriates who moved to France about two years ago.

This American style diner serves typical American style food: hot dogs, hamburgers, rootbeer floats, milk shakes, and banana splits. You can order breakfast all day.

The building is done in classic diner chrome with red and white mosaic flooring, giving it an art deco flair. Note the classic jukebox (it really plays 50s music) and waitresses dressed in ‘poodle skirts’.

Hanging above the banquettes are portraits of the owners, Mick on the left dressed as Elvis and Molly on the right as Priscilla (they were painted by British artist Ryan Terry).

A food critic gave it a four star rating, and as you can tell it is very popular with the locals… put on your Oxfords, dust off that letterman’s jacket and give it a try!
